Go on a self drive adventure and discover great surfing sites on the Garden Route. Start your journey in Port Elizabeth and the road will lead you to some awesome locations all the way to Cape Town. This itinerary was designed for avid surfers, but also for anyone that is keen to learn to surf, as each location has a surf school.

Join the buzz in Hermanus...
Hermanus is a small beach town 2 hours drive up the East Coast of Cape Town and is world renowned for its whale watching , hiking, surfing and wine valleys.
The surf lodge is situated in the town centre 300 m from the ocean and mountains. The lodge offers morning yoga classes , surf lessons, sea kayaking, whale boat tours and wine tours. There are many uncrowded surf spots in Hermanus ranging from beach breaks for beginners to reef and point breaks for more experienced surfers.

3 nights in Muizenberg at Blue Bottle Guesthouse
Experience Surfer's Corner
Muizenberg is one of the best spots to learn to surf. It is situated where the shore of the Cape Peninsula curves round to the east on the False Bay.
Spend three night’s at Blue Bottle Guesthouse and one day of volunteering at the local surf lounge academy.
At Blue Bottle you stay in luxury where each room has gorgeous ocean, lake and mountain views and is named after a butterfly from the family of butterflies called ‘blues’. Each butterfly as uniquely beautiful as each of the rooms. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms (except one which is separate) and are individually decorated and serviced daily.
