Cornerhouse guesthouse- Franschoek pass
We start the trip on a smooth riding section that is mostly tarred, with the iconic Franschhoek Pass to manoeuvre. Traffic along this section is generally slow, but do keep safely to the side of the road. Check the weather forecasts as the winds at Theewaterskloof Dam can make riding a challenge.
The Franschoek Mountain pass was completed in 1825 and it served as the main gateway to the overberg before Sir Lowrys pass was constructed in 1830.
Upon arrival in Franschoek you will be pampered with a full body massage and a gourmet dinner in town. You spend the night at Cornerhouse guesthouse, a luxury house, located in the heart of Franschhoek on a quiet avenue, minutes’ walk from Le Quarter Francais and the pretty main street filled with boutiques, galleries and restaurants.

The original Helshoogte Pass dates from 1692, shortly after the arrival of the French Huguenots in 1688, so here you get to explore a real piece of history
