We have planned the ideal getaway for serious triathletes that need a break from the every-day scenery, and still spend time with their loved ones.

  • Date: 28 October to 1 November 2021.

  • Group Size: 16 adults maximum.

  • Start and end in Cape Town.

  • 1 mile Swim in Eikenhof dam – Elgin

  • 100km cycle from Elgin to Stanford

  • 34km Run from Stanford to Hermanus

Includes:

  • 4 x nights at 4 star accommodation (1 x night at Trails end, 2 x night at Stanford Valley Guestfarm and 1 x night at Abalone Lodge)
  • Breakfast & Dinner as well as snacks and water on the road
  • Sports dietitian and coach will be on the road with you
  • Transport from Cape Town to start point (Elgin) and back to Cape Town from End Point (Hermanus)
  • Support vehicle through out- backup and transport for your bicycles

One mile in Eikenhof dam

You will meet your driver mid morning in Cape Town CBD for your transfer to Elgin. Upon arrival in Elgin you will have some time t check and settle in and meet the rest of the group as well the coach and sports dietician.

Your transport is in a 24 seater overland truck with extra open seats for social distancing. Your bicycle will come along in a bike-trailer.

There will be short team meeting with the group facilitator before you head to Eikenhof dam for your one mile swim. There will be a life guard on a SUP. Only bio-degradable sunscreen will be permitted.

100km off road cycling

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a 100km cycle journey to Stanford Valley Farm. The route that you will follow takes you straight over the N2 crossing to the Highlands road (parts are gravel) the R43 and then Karwyderskraal road, to the R320 past Tesselaaarsdal on some more gravel before you finally reach the R326.

This route is fully backed up by our support vehicle, so NO PRESSURE.. You can hop in if you feel like it.

 

You spend 2 x nights at Stanford Valley Guest Farm, because this farm have so much to offer, it gives you one free day to have a break from the road and enjoy the scenery and possible adventures (hiking and mountain bike trails)

Enjoy a farm style adventure!

The farm nestles in the valley of the Klein Rivier, 10km outside Stanford village. They offer comfortable accommodation in large en-suite rooms. Enjoy our safe and peaceful haven, have an exhilarating swim in the large dam or go hiking or cycling. 

The accommodation  is built around a central werf, giving it the feeling of a small village whilst allowing each guest unit the privacy of its own stoep and garden. The cottages, decorated in warm colours, are designed with your utmost comfort in mind.

32 km Run to Hermanus

After an awesome break at Stanford Valley Guest farm, we are back on the road for the last stretch of this adventure. 

Run the popular route from Stanford to Hermanus. The route that will take you past the Klein River Lagoon and Voelklip Beach.

With the President’s announcement of the nation’s state of disaster, the Fernery has put into action stringent practices and key measures to ensure the protection of our guests, our staff and our company.

In an effort to minimize the threat and risk of the virus spreading, we are adhering to the guidelines of the CDC and WHO on health and safety measures. This entails:

upholding the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our lodge, chalets, spa, staff quarters and the entire property, with extra attention being paid to the sterilization of high-risk areas such as door handles, appliances, equipment, work surfaces, public bathrooms, all service and common areas
intensified waste management and sanitation practices
a back-up stock of disinfectants and sanitizing products to sustain us during the crisis period
offering all the necessary support to our staff by means of awareness and required preventative measures
constant sharing of information and updates to safeguard our staff, colleagues and guests, enabling the Fernery to remain a calm, peaceful and stress-free environment
